Feature : Kota Tua

"Kota Tua" (Old City) is a tourism place that located in the west of Jakarta, and it doesn't hard to get there, there are a lot of public transportation that we can use to reach this place.
Some people in Jakarta or around Jakarta such as Depok, Bogor, and Tanggerang often come to this place on the weekend, even some foreigner tourists also like to visit this place, because there are a lot of interesting buildings here, such as Jakarta's History Museum, also known as Fatahillah's Museum, Fine Arts & Ceramics Museum, and "Wayang's" or Puppet Museum.
The ticket's price to the Fatahillah's Museum is really cheap, it's only Rp.2.000,- for general and adult, Rp.1.000,- for college's students, and Rp.600,- for students. There are a lot of things that we can learn by come to this museum. In the museum, we can see a lot of old things such as furniture, inscriptions, local music instuments from Betawi or Batavia, file cabinet, execution sword, and prehistoric society's equipments. The collections in this museum are about 1.500 years old.
There's a park in the back of this museum. In this park we can see "Meriam Si Jagur" or Si Jagur Canon, a statue of Hermes, the God of messenger, and former prison.
In the Fine Arts & Ceramics Museum, we can see a lot of old ceramics, paintings that painted by well known painters such as Raden Salah, Affandi, etc., Statues, Sculptures, and some things that found from sunken ships which were sink in Indonesia's oceans.
While in the "Wayang's" or Puppet Museum, we can see a lot of Puppet that comes from some location in Indonesia, for example, West Java, East & Central Java, Lombok, Sumatera, and some countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, India, etc. This Museum inaugurated on 13th August 1975. Some of the collections are : Puppet Show ("Wayang Golek"), Puppet ("Wayang Kulit"), Puppet China ("Wayang China"), Music Drover ("Gambang Kromong"), masks, and inscriptions.
Beside Museums, we can also find a lot of old buildings, traditional food, souvenir shops, and there are also some people who rent old bicycles that we can use to look around the area. There is also a restaurant named Batavia Cafe, this cafe has an old style, when we enter this restaurant, we can see a small stage and a piano in the first floor, and when we are about to go upstairs, we can see a lot of photos in the wall of the stairs. That time when we are in the second floor, we will feel the different atmosphere, this room is really warm and comfortable.
From the second floor, we can see the museums and some buildings in this area, and we can also feel the wind breeze gently. This restaurant give a nice service, both from the waiters and the atmosphere, and the meals are delicious but maybe it's kinda expensive for students.
